Rolex Country Codes

Between 1980 and 2020, Rolex warranty papers and cards included a three-digit country code indicating the country where the watch was originally sold. Although Rolex never officially published a definitive list of these codes, many of them are well known among collectors and dealers.

In 2020, Rolex stopped printing country codes on warranty cards. While the company has never publicly explained this change, it is widely believed that Rolex removed them to reinforce the idea that all Rolex watches are identical, as they are all manufactured in the same Swiss facilities.

Where to Find the Country Code on Your Rolex Documentation

For watches produced between 1980 and 2006, the country code is stamped directly on the paper warranty documents, typically near the top.

From 2006 until 2020, Rolex issued plastic warranty cards instead of paper documents. On the back of these cards, a white strip lists the authorized retailer, location, and date of purchase. The country code appears in the upper-right corner of this strip.
